Don’t get comfortable with crazy!

If you could label your most common vibe, what would it be?

Crazy, steady, calm, traumatic, disastrous, happy, depressed?

There are people who find themselves in a constant state of crazy. One thing I have observed in my own life and in the lives of others is that we get comfortable with a certain vibe and tend to get stuck on it. Getting stuck on “happy” could be a good thing, but many of us find ourselves getting attached to “crazy” or “depressed”.

Much of what we experience is in our control. Are there things you are doing, people you are associating with or decisions you are making to keep yourself in a certain negative vibe? Maybe you are self-medicating, spending too much money, or spending time with others who are negative or toxic.

You don’t have to be comfortable with “crazy” or any other negative vibe, but you will have to reflect on it and figure out what to do to change your trend.

Try something different:

*say “no” to the negative or crazy people who draw you in

*do something different instead of spending money

*clean your house

*sign up for a class or go for counseling

The bottom line is…you must do something different to get a different result.

Is it possible? YES

Is it scary or hard? YES

Can you do it? YES

Find someone or something (blog, podcast, music soundtrack) to inspire you and support you as you try something different.

Look at your negative vibe as something that is holding on to you. Think about releasing it, fighting it, changing it. It might take time, but you can make major changes by making small changes. If there are big changes to make, get help making them.

I’ve changed my vibe by going for counseling (many different therapists over the years), leaving a dysfunctional marriage, learning new self care strategies, disconnecting from toxic people, toxic jobs, and just plain taking care of myself. I’ve read a lot of books and talked with a lot of other people who were also seeking happiness. It all works, but you must be patient and diligent.
