The Big Stall Out

So, you have this great idea and start to plan it out. You are so inspired and for weeks you obsess about it and start to get things going. You accomplish a lot and can’t wait to see how far you can go with the idea or goal. Things are running along so smoothly then…

You wake up one day and you just don’t feel it. The momentum has stalled. You try to force yourself to continue, but you can’t.

I call this the “big stall out”. For no particular reason, you can’t continue right now.

It’s o.k.

Ride it out.

Take a break.

Don’t beat yourself up because of it.

All good things happen in time. Maybe this isn’t the time.

Pick it up again when you feel like it. The energy you save from not forcing yourself may become a critical part of continuing the project.

It’s o.k.

You don’t need to give up, just give in to the break. Listen to yourself if yourself is telling you “STOP”.

Maybe it is just what you need. When you get back at it, you may have a new perspective and be able to do twice as well as you would have if you would have forced yourself into it.
